Dear St. John's family,

It's my privilege and honour to address you all of you as family, indeed we are one family, in Christ, though we belong to different regions.

I thank the Almighty God for giving this wonderful opportunity and strength in order to design this memorable event, Silver Jubilee Souvenir. Though it is an onerous job I accomplished it by the inspiring quotation of William Carey, “Expect great things from God and Attempt great things for God”.

I greet one and all on this occasion of our Church’s Silver Jubilee celebrations. During the last 25 years we have grown in fellowship and in His service as well.

We got the B-Class Parish status, in our Central Guntur Synod. Without your prayers and support, it would have not been possible. By His grace now we have an elegant church building for His worship and & comfortable place for Sunday school for our children.

“Expect great things from God and Attempt great things for God”.

I thank all the former Pastors who have contributed their dedicated, valuable time service in growth and expansion of our church. I thank Rev. Golla. Joseph Raju, the then Parish Pastor for his dedicated efforts and service in the building the church. It’s my duty to thank all the Patrons who has generously become the part for the growth of our church.

I express my gratitude to the founders of our church Late. Sri. S. John sadhu, Late. Sri. V. Venkata Ratnam, Late. Sri. G. Prabhu Dasu. I specially thank all the senior members, who were instrumental in building our church right from 1998 in crossing all the financial hurdles.

Further I extend my thanks to the souvenir committee members, Our PCC member Mr. VV Ratnakar, Issac Naveen, Vamsi Raj, Suma, Ravallika, and Chandra Shekhar for their valuable suggestions and support in bringing out this impressive souvenir. We could not release the Souvenir as planned because various factors.

But upon my request Mr. Pothula Joseph Raju has come forward voluntarily and spent lot of valuable his time in finishing the Souvenir, without his help I couldn’t have completed this task. Never the less I thank Smt.G Beulah – Designer supported in giving a good design for this Souvenir.

I thank all the Parish Church Council and members of the congregation for their support and contribution in bringing out this souvenir and to celebrate, rejoice & to remember for long in the name of our LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST. Martin Luther OSA

10 - 11 - 1483 to 18 - 02 - 1546

Martin Luther was born to Mr. Hans Luther and Margaret Luther on 10th November 1483 in Germany. He studied philosophy and law, and earned a doctorate of theology at the University of Wittenberg.

Martin Luther became the catalyst of the 16th century Protestant Reformation.

Ordained to the priesthood in 1507, he began to reject key teachings and practices of the Roman Catholic Church.

On 31 October 1517, he sent his “Disputation on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences” to his bishop, launching the Ninety-five Theses and igniting global reform.

Luther taught that salvation and eternal life are received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not earned by works.

He died at age 62 on 18 February 1546 in Eisleben, and was buried before the pulpit of the Castle Church in Wittenberg.

John Christian FrederickHeyer

10 - 07 - 1793 to 07 - 11 - 1873

John Christian FrederickHeyer was the first missionary sent abroad by Lutherans in the United States. He founded the Guntur Mission in Andhra Pradesh, India.

“Father Heyer” is commemorated as a missionary in the Calendar of Saints of the Lutheran Church, along with Bartholo-maeus Ziegenbalg and Ludwig Ingwer Nommensen.

In 1842, Rev Heyer started The American Evangelical Lutheran Mission, later called The Andhra Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he ministered and performed yeoman service to the people there.

Supported initially by the Pennsylvania Ministerium, and later by the Foreign Mission Board of the General Synod, Heyer was encouraged and assisted by British government officials.

He established a number of hospitals and a network of schools throughout the Guntur region.

సంఘ చరిత్ర

ప్రథమంగా భారతదేశంలో లూథరన్ మిషన్‌ను స్థాపించడానికి అమెరికా లూథరన్ సోసైటీ 1841 సంవత్సరంలో ఫాదర్ జాన్ ఫెడరిక్ హైయర్ గారిని పంపింది. ఫాదర్ హైయర్ గారు 1842 జూలై 31న గంటూరు ద్వారా ఆంధ్ర ఈవాంజెలికల్ లూథరన్ సంఘాన్ని స్థాపించారు.

తర్వాత A.E.L.C సంఘము దేవుని దయ వల్ల బహుముగా అభివృద్ధి చెందింది. అందులో భాగంగా 1964 సంవత్సరంలో హైదరాబాద్‌లోని లక్ష్మీకాంతపుర్‌లో లూథరన్ సంఘము స్థాపించబడింది. ఆ సంఘం దేవుని కృప వల్ల A-Class Parish స్థాయికి ఎదిగింది.

అప్పట్లో ఆ చర్చి కమిటీ ఆధ్వర్యంలో చర్చి ప్లాంటేషన్ చేయాలని నిర్ణయించబడింది. ఆ రోజుల్లో బౌరంపేట్, సూరారం, జీడిమెట్లా, చంతల్, బాలనగర్ పరిసరాల్లో నివసిస్తున్న అనేక లూథరన్ కుటుంబాలు లక్ష్మీకాంతపుర్ సంఘానికి వచ్చేవారు.

ఈ క్రమంలో కొంతమంది పెద్దలు, సంఘస్థులు ఎదుర్కొంటున్న ఇబ్బందులను గమనించి, లక్ష్మీకాంతపుర్ సంఘం కాపరియైన కీ.శే. రేవ. జి. విజయాకర్ గారు, సంఘ చైర్మన్ శ్రీ రాజేంద్రప్రసాద్ గారు మరియు సంఘ ట్రెజరర్ కె.ఎల్. శిరీష్ బాబు గారు చర్చి స్థాపనకి సహాయం చేయమని కోరారు. అప్పటి మన పెద్దలైన యస్. జాన్ స్ధు గారు, వి. వెంకటరతనుంగారు మరియు ప్రభుదాస్ గారు అభ్యర్థించారు.

కాబట్టి వారి అభ్యర్థనను స్వీకరించి, చంతల్ పరిసరాల్లో అంబంధ సంఘాన్ని స్థాపించేందుకు ఒప్పుకున్నారు. ఈ క్రమంలో యస్. జాన్ స్ధు గారి గృహమునందు 1998 ఆగస్టు 15న, రేవ. విజయాకర్ గారు మొదటి ఆరాధన నిర్వహించారు. ఆ ప్రారంభంలో వి. వెంకటరతనుంగారు, యస్. స్ధీర్ గారు, కె. ప్రసాద్ బాబు గారు మరియు మరికొందరు కుటుంబాలు ఆరాధనలో పాల్గొన్నారు.

ఆ తరువత చంతల్ గణేష్ నగర్ లోని కీ॥శే॥ మణిగారి బిల్డంగ్ నందు రెండవ అంతస్థా అద్ది తీస్కని ఆరాధనన్ జరిగంచారు. తరువత A.E.L.C రిటైర్డ్ సంఘకాపరియైన కీ.శే. రేవ. బోరుగడ్డ సుందర రావు గారు మన సంఘానికి మొదటి సంఘ కాపరిగానే నియమింపబడ్డారు.

1998 అక్టోబర్ 31వ తేదీన సంఘ కాపరియైన బోరుగడ్డ సుందర రావు గారు వారిని సంఘ పెద్దలుగా అభిషేకించారు. వారిలో 1) శ్రీ కె. జాన్ (ట్రెజరర్), 2) శ్రీ యస్. జాన్ స్ధు, 3) శ్రీ వి. వెంకట రతనుంగారు, 4) శ్రీ జి. ప్రభుదాస్, 5) శ్రీ జంగం అనీల్ స్టీవెన్ సన్, 6) శ్రీ కె. ప్రసాద్ బాబు, 7) శ్రీ కె. సంజీవ రావు, 8) శ్రీ ఎన్. పృద్వరాజ్, 9) శ్రీ జోసెఫ్, 10) శ్రీ వి.వి. రత్నకర్, 11) శ్రీ పుష్యోత్తము మరియు 12) శ్రీ యస్. స్ధీర్. తరువాత శ్రీ కె. వెంకటేశ్వరులో, శ్రీయం.యం. దత్తు, శ్రీ వై. ప్రసన్న కుమార్, శ్రీ సి.హెచ్. మణి కుమార్, శ్రీ జి. డేవిడ్ రాజు, శ్రీ బి. రమేష్ మరియు శ్రీ కె. నరేంద్రబాబు గారు సహ పెద్దలుగా అభిషేకించబడ్డారు.

ఈ విధంగా ఆరాధనలు జరుగుతున్న క్రమంలో సంఘాన్ని నడిపించడంతో రెండు, మూడు స్థలాలకు మారడం జరిగింది. ఆ స్థలంలో వచ్చిన ఇబ్బందులను గమనించి యస్. జాన్ స్ధు గారు, వి. వెంకట రతనుంగారు మరియు జి. ప్రభుదాస్ గారు సంఘానికి స్థలాన్ని కనుగొనాలని నిర్ణయించుకున్నారు.

ఈ క్రమంలో సంఘ పెద్దలు మరియు సంఘస్థులు కలిసి శ్రీ జంగం అనీల్ స్టీవెన్ సన్ గారిని సంఘంలోని Construction Committee Chairmanగా నియమించారు. అప్పటి నుండి ఆయన ఆధ్వర్యంలో సంఘ స్థలం కోసం ఎన్నో ప్రయత్నాలు జరిగాయి.

జంగం అనీల్ స్టీవెన్ సన్ గారి తండ్రి శ్రీ జంగం పరిశుద్ధి రావు గారు, అప్పటి లక్ష్మీకాంతపుర్ చర్చ్ ట్రెజరర్ శ్రీ కె. శిరీష్ బాబు గారు మంచి మిత్రులై సంఘానికి ఆర్థిక సహాయం అందించారు.

ఆ ప్రయత్న ఫలితంగా యస్. జాన్ స్ధు గారు మరియు జంగం అనీల్ స్టేవెన్ సన్ గారు కలిసి ప్రస్తుతం మన సంఘ ఆరాధన జరుగుతున్న స్థలాన్ని 350 గజాల స్థలంగా కొనుగోలు చేశారు. అలాగే మరో 350 గజాల స్థలాన్ని ఒక పెద్దాకి కొనుగోలు చేసారు.

చర్చీ స్థలం కొనుగోలు ఒప్పందం 6 నెలల తర్వాత సంఘ నిధులు సమకూర్చలేకపోయింది కాబట్టి ఆ స్థల యజమాని మనకు ఆ స్థలాన్ని ఇవ్వాలని నిరాకరించాడు. బదులుగా మరొక స్థలాన్ని (ప్రస్తుతం శ్రీ డేవిడ్ రాజ్ గారు నివసిస్తున్న) సూచించాడు.

శ్రీ జంగం అనీల్ స్టేవెన్ సన్ గారు లేని సమయంలో, అప్పటి సంఘ కాపరియైన రేవ. కె. సమర్పణ కుమార్ గారు, సంఘ పెద్దలు మరియు సభులు మరో స్థలాన్ని తీసుకోవడానికి అంగీకరించారు. ఒక ఆదివారం వారు మన ప్రస్తుత చర్చీ స్థలం దగ్గర నిలబడి ఉండగా జంగం అనీల్ స్టేవెన్ సన్ గారు అక్కడికి వచ్చి పరిస్థితి గురించి తెలుసుకొని ఆ పాత స్థలాన్ని తిరిగి చూడటానికి వెళ్ళారు.

ఆ స్థలం చరువు లాగా కనిపించడంతో జంగం అనీల్ స్టেভెన్ సన్ గారు ఒప్పుకోలేదు. తిరిగి మన ప్రస్తుత చర్చీ స్థలం దగ్గరికి వచ్చి ఆ స్థల యజమాని మరియు మరికొందరు సభ్యులతో గొడవపడ్డారు. వారంతా వేరే స్థలం తీసుకోవడానికి ఒప్పుకోలేదు. తదుపరి రోజు ఆ స్థల యజమాని ఒక టీజీ కంపెనీ ఉద్యోగి కావడంతో 20 మందిని కలిసి జంగం అనీల్ స్టేవెన్ సన్ గారి ఇంటి వద్దకు వచ్చి బహిరంగంగా గొడవపడ్డారు.

ఆ తరువాత రాజీ మారేటప్పుడు జంగం అనీల్ స్టేవెన్ సన్ గారు మరియు జాన్ స్ధు గారు కలిసి ప్రస్తుత చర్చీ స్థలానికి సమీపంలో ఉన్న మరో స్థలాన్ని కొనుగోలు చేయాలని నిర్ణయించారు.

2006 డిసెంబర్ 3వ తేదీ న మన సెంట్రల్ గంటూరు సిన్డు ప్రెసిడెంట్ గారైన రైట్ రేవ. సి. హెచ్. ఏలీయ గారి ఆధ్వర్యంలో రేవ. జి. విజయాకర్ గారు, రేవ. కె. సమర్పణ కుమార్ గారు, కె. ఎల్. శిరీష్ బాబు గారు, జయకర్ గారు, జంగం అనీల్ స్టేవెన్ సన్ గారు, కె. ప్రస్ద్ బాబు గారు, కె. జాన్ గారు, జి. గంగయ్ గారు తదితరుల ఆధ్వర్యంలో పన్నిరాయలు వేశారు.

2009 సం॥లో రేవ. జి. జోసఫ్ రాజు గారి ఆధ్వర్యంలో రేవ. బి. స్‌ందర రావు గారిని ఆహ్వానించి 2009 డిసెంబర్ 22 తేదీన మన ఆలయ ప్రతిష్టా జరుపుకున్నాము.

మందిర నిర్మాణ పనుల్లో సీలాపూర్ నుంచి చర్చ్ టవర్ వరకు మందిరం యొక్క ఫౌండేషన్ నిర్మాణంలో శ్రీ కె. ప్రస్ద్ బాబు (ఇంజనీర్) గారు ఎంతో శ్రమపడి పాల్గొన్నారు. చర్చి సీలాపూర్ నిర్మాణ సమయంలో బేస్‌మెంట్ వరకు రసాయన నీరు రావడంతో వాటిని సరిపోయేలా చేయడానికి జి. గంగయ్ గారు, కె. ప్రస్ద్ బాబు గారు, యం.యం. దత్తు గారు, వి.వి. రత్నుకర్ గారు, వై. ప్రసనను కుమార్ గారు ఎంతో కష్టపడి బేస్‌మెంట్ వేసి గోడలు నిర్మించారు.

మন্দిర నిర్మాణ సమయంలో ధనం చెలామణిలో లేనందున యస్. జాన్ స్ధు గారు, జంగం అనీల్ స్టేవెన్ సన్ గారు, వి. వేంకట రతనుంగారు మరియు సంఘ సభు పెద్దల సహకారంతో సంఘ నిర్మాణం జరిగింది.

సంఘ ఆరాధనలు జరుగుతున్న సమయంలో సంఘానికి రావడానికి ప్రయాణ సదుపాయాలు లేనందున, జంగం అనీల్ స్టేవెన్ సన్ గారు బస్సులు ఏర్పాటు చేసి వారిని ప్రతి ఆదివారం చర్చ్‌కు తీసుకుని వెళ్ళీ తిరిగి తీసుకువెళ్లడం ద్వారా సహకరించారు. అలాగే క్రిస్మస్ కార్యక్రమాలకు బస్సులు మరియు స్మాల్గన్ ఏర్పాటు చేశారు.

సంఘ నిర్మాణ సమయంలో అప్పటి సంఘ కాపరియైన రేవ. జి. జోసఫ్ రాజు గారు ఎంతో శ్రమించారు. ఈ మందిర నిర్మాణానికి చాలా దాతలు ధన రూపంలో, వస్తు రూపంలో, శ్రమ రూపంలో సహాయ సహకారం అందించారు.

అప్పటి నుండి సంఘంలో ఆరాధనలు, స్త్రీల సమాజం, యూత్ ఫెలోషిప్ మరియు సండే స్కూల్ కార్యక్రమాలు దేవునికి మహిమగా జరిగాయి. 2019 సంవత్సరంలో చర్చ్ బెల్‌ను ఏర్చారు. మన మందిరంలో దేవునికి మహిమగా అనేక కార్యక్రమాలు జరిగుతూనే, సంఘం దినదినం ఆధ్యాత్మిక సంబంధమైన ఆలోచనలతో విస్తరించింది.

ఈ 25 వసంతాలుగా పది మంది సేవకులు తమ సేవలతో సంఘానికి ఎంతోగానే కృషి చేశారు. అందులో ముఖ్యంగా రేవ. సమర్పణ కుమార్ గారు స్థలం సేకరణలో మరియు రేవ. జోసఫ్ రాజు గారు మందిర నిర్మాణంలో విరివిగా సేవలందించారు.

బౌరంపేట నుంచి మన సంఘ సభ్యులైన శ్రీ తోట వెంకట రావు గారు, శామ్ గారు, స్టేలిన్ గారు తదితరులు మా ప్రాంగణంలో లూథరన్ సంఘాన్ని ఏర్పాటు చేయాలని మన సంఘ పెద్దలను అభ్యర్థించారు. బౌరంపేటలోని ఇంద్రమ్మ కాలనీలో సంఘం ఏర్పాటు చేయడానికి రేవ. కె. జీవన్ స్మూల్ గారు, యస్. స్ధీర్ గారు, కె. జాన్ గారు మరియు పోతుల జోసెఫ్ రాజు గారు వెళ్లి 2022 జనవరి 2వ తేదీన సంబంధ సంఘాన్ని ప్రారంభించారు.

2022 జనవరి 9వ తేదీన, తోట వెంకట రావు గారి గృహంలో క్రైస్తవ లూథరన్ సంఘం మొదటి ఆరాధన జరిగింది. జోసెఫ్ రాజు గారు తన కారులో దాదాపు రెండు నెలల వరకు పాస్టర్‌గా మరియు సంఘ పెద్దల సహకారంతో ఆరాధనలకు తీసుకువెళ్లడం ద్వారా చాలా సహాయం చేసారు.

తరువాత మన సంఘ సభ్యులైన వాణి ప్రసద్ గారు, కె.డి.వి. ప్ల్ గారు, శ్రీమతి వాణి గారు, శ్రీ జె. వెంకటరావు గారు, యన్. పృధీ్వరాజ్ గారు, వై. ప్రసనను కుమార్ గారు, వై. ప్రవీణ్ కుమార్ గారు మరియు యం. రాజేష్ గారు తదితరులు అక్కడ ఆరాధనలకు వెళ్ళి సంఘ కార్యక్రమాల్లో సహకరించారు.

ఇందునాటి తరువాత ఆ సంఘం కూడా ఎంతో ఆత్మీయంగా బలపడుతూ, దినముందు అభివృద్ధి చెందింది.
